When ZEEBRAHAM started it was mainly about creating performance bicycles for friends.
To create mechanical goodness from more affordable parts and leaving the styling as utilitarian as possible soon became our signature.
With the majority of our careers spent in the sneaker industry we soon explored the possibility to create footwear that would follow the same idea.
We love the style and the pragmatic view on functionality in cycling.
This is what guides us when we create products that follow our ideas of value.
We firmly believe that responsibly sourced sneakers should not be a luxury.
That’s why we have used our experience to cut
prices where possible.
Our sneakers are proudly produced in Portugal, where high levels of handicraft and know-how have been passed down through generations of footwear manufacturers.
As a small team, we wanted to keep things simple. By sourcing all our raw materials in Europe, we reduce both bureaucracy and transport distances.
With its long-standing tradition in footwear and leather goods, Portugal’s infrastructure ensures a hassle-free production process – most parts of our sneakers travel less than 200 kilometres from source to factory.
Made from durable vegetable-tanned leather from a nearby tannery in Aveneda, the single-layer upper with cycling-inspired perforations accentuates the natural breathability and moisture-wicking properties of leather.
Paired with a natural latex rubber outsole, the result is an incredibly soft and flexible sneaker. For an optimal in-shoe environment, the recycled polyurethane footbed with memory-foam effect is topped with a breathable antibacterial liner.
We believe in minimizing our footprint.
Our material choices are guided by three principles:
Comfort – Durability – Compostability
The leather we use is fully compostable after 20 days. And while our natural rubber latex outsole will take a while longer, the abrasion it undergoes over its lifetime won’t contribute to the microplastic problem. Our solution for ensuring even power distribution from the laces to the midfoot: reclaimed seatbelt straps from a local scrapyard.
The conscientious concept is tied together with organic cotton laces and recycled foam padding throughout.
The ZEE1 is sourced from materials within 200km around the factory. Made in Portugal.
